When I talked to the artist at the beginning, I learnt that he grows all the materials he uses, and I could really feel his love for the linen material. Later he showed us some of the tools he already had for making the pieces, including how to perform with them. Firstly, in the first step, the hard part of the plant was broken off and removed, and then only the fibre part was left. Then each step of the process was accompanied by a corresponding tool, and it was quite amazing to enjoy a bit of his process in an immersive way. I hadn't thought that the process of making things could be part of art, making tools and performing.

But it reminds me of the time when I was confused about the requirement to make a tool for fast making and Oscar gave me the reference "LOW-TECH FACTORY".(“For its 14th edition, Langenthal Designers’ Saturday offers carte blanche to the ECAL/ University of Art and Design Lausanne. It provides the setting for the ECAL to present its exhibition entitled “Low-Tech Factory”, a selection of machines designed by Bachelor’s students of Industrial Design and Product at a workshop led by designer Chris Kabel. At Langenthal, factories are omnipresent. For this carte blanche, it seemed to us natural to ask students to look at showcasing the manufacturing process of an object, from the machine to the finished product. They therefore experimented with simple and ingenious shaping methods such as moulding, thermoforming and knitting to obtain finished products. “Low-Tech Factory” tackles the subject of automatic production beloved by designers, bringing together six entertaining machines which throughout the exhibition produce hats, sacks, lamps, and even popcorn!”)

This approach of designing not as an outcome but as a process is arguably another perspective on design. Because in fact, when I did design before, all I thought about was the final result, and I never thought about such a perspective, which is to design a tool to present the process of the birth of an object. It's quite amazing.
