This lesson teaches us how to look at an item and think about it. How an object can be a source of inspiration for our creations and how to use an object as a starting point.
First time I've ever observed an item like this that I didn't know what it was. First you look at it, then you touch it and feel it, then you describe it (drawing or writing) and finally you ask questions.
Regarding this orange-coloured item, function aside to look at it, the first thing I drew down was that I thought it was a little monster, and it's amazing how the four rollers just happen to be his little feet, and the handle just happens to have the grain of the wood itself forming what looks a lot like a big eye pattern.
Another point that attracted me to this item is his metal body, which just maps the orange tumbler part, creating an oval pattern that works very well as a decoration.
